Motor Image Pilipinas, the exclusive distributors of Subaru vehicles in the
Philippines, recently concluded the 2017 Palm Challenge held at 9th Avenue,
Bonifacio High Street, Taguig City.
Aspiring contestants who were competing to represent the Philippines in the
Singapore Finals this October braved the sunny weather and held on to the
all-new XV vehicles without letting go of their right palm.
MR. JOHN EZEKIEL ASUNCION, Marketing Manager - Subaru Philippines
"In the Subaru Festival 2017 right now, it's actually on its second year
aleady. Comprising of the Subaru Festival is the introduction of our
all-new XV, introduction of our Palm Challenge, and at the same time we
have other things happening here like car club displays, we have the entire
Subaru line-up as you can see behind us. So it's more of a gathering of all
Subaru enthusiasts even those who just want to buy a Subaru to congregate
the displays and have fun. Basically the Palm Challenge is a test of
perseverance and resiliency. All you have to do is put your hand on a car,
and last long enough, and here in our qualifying Palm Challenge, the 10
Filipinos who are strong enough to stand the test of time by holding to the
all-new XV, they will be flown to Singapore, they will be the Philippine
team and they will go against several other ASEAN countries and hopefully
this year will be the first year that we will win against all of those
countries and the winner will drive home a new Subaru vehicle."
After 11 hours, the final 10 finalists came through. The Philippines Top
Ten will be flown to Singapore this October 27 to November 1, 2017 to
compete in the regional finals of the Subaru Palm Challenge. The winner of
the finals will drive home a brand new Subaru vehicle.
