In an effort to stop "colorums" from plying in one of the country's premier
airport, the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board or LTFRB
has signed a memorandum of agreement with the Manila International Airport
Authority or MIAA.
The LTFRB and MIAA recently signed a MOA or a memorandum of agreement to
stop "colorums" or out-of-line PUVs from plying the four terminals of the
Ninoy Aquino International Airport.
According to the agency and MIAA, the MOA was meant to improve airport
public transport vehicle service through the implementation of national
traffic-management rules and regulation at the said airport.
According to the LTFRB, they will be assisting in the law-enforcement units
in implementing existing laws, rules and regulations within the vicinity of
the MIAA.
The agency also adds that the penalty fees that would be given to violators
have become much higher, ranging from P120, 000 to P200,000.
The LTFRB and MIAA also appeal to passengers to avoid dealing with
solicitors and to keep away from unmarked vehicles.
