Strict Adherence to Safety Rules Urged

Land Transportation Office chief Vigor Mendoza II emphasized the urgency for strict adherence to road safety and traffic regulations following several major accidents, including one in Western Visayas during the Holy Week, which resulted in fatalities.

Mendoza said the LTO has suspended 671 drivers for various violations related to road safety, including 574 suspensions linked to road incidents and 97 drivers who tested positive for drugs.

He also noted that the LTO is pursuing the revocation of the license of the driver reported to be involved in a fatal road crash during a Good Friday procession in Bacolod City.

According to the LTO chief, the LTO has issued show-cause orders to other drivers and a jeepney operator for traffic violations during the Holy Week.

Now we'd like to find out what happened after the show-cause orders were issued to supposed traffic rules violators.
