LTO Chief Seeks to Fix CTPL Problems

Land Transportation Office (LTO) Chief Vigor Mendoza II has issued a warning to personnel against rejecting CTPL insurance policies obtained from authorized sellers by vehicle owners renewing their registration.

This directive follows Transportation Secretary Vince Dizon's call to improve LTO services and address the sale of CTPL by unauthorized sellers.

Mendoza emphasized that personnel who refuse valid CTPLs or collaborate with unauthorized sellers could face penalties and disciplinary action.

The LTO plans to deploy "mystery customers" to identify unauthorized insurance sellers and any LTO employees involved with them.

Implementing digital solutions for the efficient purchase and verification of CTPL policies, such as an online platform to verify accredited insurance providers, could further streamline the process and reduce unauthorized activities.
