The construction of the Taguig City Integrated Terminal Exchange (TCITX)
has begun after delays due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Located in Arca South, the six-story facility will connect to the
North-South Commuter Railway and Metro Manila Subway. Transportation
Secretary Jaime Bautista believes it will improve travel experiences,
particularly for southern commuters.
The TCITX project estimated to cost around P5 billion pesos is a
collaboration between the Philippine government and private sector entities
led by Ayala Land.
It is designed to serve various transport modes, including provincial and
city buses, as well as smaller transport vehicles.
Bautista also mentioned a feasibility study for a similar terminal in the
northern NCR is underway.
Commuters are looking forward to a more modern, efficient, accessible and
affordable mass transport system that would make life easier for both Metro
Manila residents and those coming from the provinces. Mega transport hubs
should help make this come true.
