LTO-NCR is making it more convenient for motorists to claim proper licenses
and license plates, but mainly for those with access to and knowing how to
use the internet.
The Land Transportation Office-National Capital Region website
ltoncr.com now features a
portal for drivers to check the status of their licenses and request for a
proper plastic card license to replace their paper-printed ones.
Vehicle owners can also use the LTO-NCR website to locate and claim their
license plates.
In a press statement, LTO-NCR Regional Director Roque Verzosa III said the
website enables users to request and claim their Driver's license Cards at
the specific LTO office where the transaction took place.
This ensures a streamlined process and improves efficiency in card
distribution, he added.
This on-line process is exclusive to clients who renewed or applied for
driver's license card at the Ali Mall Cubao, Eastwood, Robinsons Place
Manila, Quezon City Licensing Center, Caloocan Extension Office, Pateros
Extension Office, and La Loma District Office.
But Verzosa said more LTO-NCR offices will be included in the new online
system soon.
The LTO has spent millions, some say billions, to streamline its online
processes. The LTO-NCR is doing its part, but perhaps this should be done
at the national level already.
