Motorists in Bulacan should now be benefitting from the widening of the
bypass road in Plaridel.
The newly opened four-lane Guiguinto flyover and expanded Plaridel Arterial
Bypass Road are seen to ease traffic congestion in Bulacan. DPWH-CAR
director Khadaffy Tanggol
The newly constructed flyover and widened section of the arterial road are
expected to accommodate around 15,000 vehicles daily, providing motorists
with a more efficient route and reducing travel time across Bulacan.
The expanded arterial road connects the municipalities of Balagtas,
Guiguinto, Plaridel, Bustos and San Rafael in Bulacan.
The arterial road aims to facilitate smoother traffic flow for thousands of
daily commuters and cargo vehicles, particularly those connecting to the
NLEX and the Philippine-Japan Friendship Highway, commonly known as Daang
Maharlika.
The flyover and expanded section of the arterial road is part of the
5.26-billion peso Plaridel Arterial Bypass Road project, funded in part by
4.25-billion official development assistance loan from Japan International
Cooperation Agency.
Bulacan is experiencing traffic congestion worsening along with the growth
in the province's population and rapid economic growth. Arterial bypass
roads should help the economy to grow while helping ease traffic
congestion.
