Department of Transportation (DOTr) Secretary Jaime Bautista has appointed
Glen Galario as the new officer-in-charge of the Land Transportation Office
for Central Visayas, or LTO-7.
According to a Philippine News Agency report, Galario previously served as
LTO-7 assistant regional director and replaces outgoing LTO-7 Regional
Director Victor Emmanuel Caindec.
In five years under Caindec, LTO-7 doubled the number of offices and
licensing centers in the region from 18 to 36.
LTO-7 now has offices and licensing centers in Camotes and Bantayan islands
and the towns of Dalaguete, Balamban, Ronda, and La Libertad in Negros
Oriental.
Under Caindec's leadership, LTO-7 has also established a free theoretical
driving course scholarship program that has so far produced 20,000
graduates in the region.
Here's wishing the new LTO-7 OIC luck in following the footsteps of the man
he replaces.
