The Light Rail Transit Authority is expecting the feasibility study on the
LRT-2 Cogeo Extension Project to be submitted soon by the contracted
consultant.
The feasibility study is expected to project how much is needed to extend
the LRT-2 farther up Antipolo and the number of stations to be added.
The study is also expected to estimate the volume of ridership to be
generated by the Cogeo extension project.
According to published reports, the LRTA is seeking to extend the LRT-2 by
at least three stations to the east to reduce the volume of passengers that
builds up at the Antipolo-Masinag station, the current end point of the
line.
The reports also added that the LRTA will present the submitted feasibility
study to the Department of Transportation before deciding on the fate of
the Cogeo Extension Project.
