Davao Gets First Premium Taxis
Classified as Silver Taxis by the LTFRB as part of the Taxi Modernization
Program, the 10 modern taxis of Cymae Transpo come with free internet
access to passengers, on-board or mobile-based navigation system, dashboard
and occupancy cameras with continuous recording of the past 24-hour
operation, and automatic fare collection through cashless cards.
Silver Premium taxis will have P50 flag-down pesos and rates of P2.50 per
minute and P17.50 per kilometer.
Under the program, the Davao Region will be allowed to have 450 premium
taxi units - 250 Silver and 200 Gold taxis.
Each franchisee will be allowed to operate a maximum of 30 units.
The premium taxis have undergone inspection, road test, and sealing by
LTFRB-Davao to ensure safety of passengers.
Premium taxis make up just one facet of the administration's comprehensive
transport modernization program. And Davao is just one of the cities and
