To better serve the motorists, NLEX Corporation is upgrading two of its expressways' roadway lights and signs as part of its enhancements program,
According to NLEX Corporation President and General Manager J. Luigi Bautista, the company's aiming to guide the expressway motorists to their destinations as over 1,000 brighter lights and more than 600 new signs are up for installation. Old signages will also be replaced in both bounds of NLEX and SCTEX.
As part of the improvement, font and sign sizes were increased, as well as the reflectivity to remain highly visible during nighttime. This project is targeted to be completed by May 2020.
These upgrades, according to the NLEX top official, are from customer suggestions through stakeholder consultations, dialogues, fora, surveys, and social media.
Aside from this, NLEX Corporation is also set to complete the replacement of 1,078 interchange and median LED lighting from NLEX Balintawak to Tabang this month.
According to the company, replacement is needed as the lights' brightness in the said part of NLEX have reduced over time. Aside from this, NLEX Corporation also heightened the illumination or brightness level of the new lights to 20 lux from the previous 12 lux to help drivers become more aware of their surroundings.
"NLEX Corporation recognizes the importance of providing adequate lighting and appropriate road signs for safe and efficient expressway travel of our motorists," Bautista said.
