The Light Rail Transit Authority or LRTA introduced its train driving
simulator system that would enhance the driving skills of railway drivers.
The LRTA recently launched its train driving simulator held at the LRT-2
Recto Station. LRTA Administrator Reynaldo Berroya was proud to present the
first ever train driving simulator to enhance and improve the driving
skills of LRT-2 drivers and operators.
LRTA Administrator Berroya also emphasized that the daily safety of the
passengers is the paramount concern of the agency. He also added that the
Technical Education and Skills Development Authority or TESDA has approved
the creation of the Philippine Railway Training Center.
Initially, the software that was incorporated in the hardware system of the
driving simulator has the LRT-2 system and the agency is soon to include
software of LRT line 1, PNR and the MRT 3.
With the introduction of its train driving simulator, the LRTA suggests
that the LTO and even other government agencies could adopt the same system
in enhancing the safety of its driving testing method.
