Updates from NLEX Corporation
Shortly after the announcement of the NLEX Corporation regarding the expansion of lanes in major toll plazas for an improved travel experience of motorists plying the expressways, the company has now updates on the ongoing project constructions. As part of the ongoing improvement of interchanges in major expressways of the country, the NLEX Corporation is expanding the Mabiga Interchange. The company is eliminating the U-turn slot from the SCTEx to MacArthur Highway to make it a full interchange. Also included in the project is the expansion of the Sta. Ines Interchange in Mabalacat, Pampanga. The company is constructing a new right-turning ramp in the direction of Mabalacat-Magalang Road. The said project is targeted for completion by the end of 2017. Moreover, the NLEX Corporation is also retrofitting the main bridge of San Simon Interchange as part of the company's commitment to ensure the safety of the motorists. Meanwhile, the agency says that they are preparing to submit to the government its plan to extend the NLEX to Bataan province by early 2018. The company adds that they are currently finalizing engineering studies for the Phase 3, a 37.76-kilometer expressway from Sto. Tomas, Pampanga to Dinalupihan, Bataan.
