In 2017, the Land Transportation Office or LTO faced different challenges
may it be enforcement-related or things that concerned the production of
plates. This 2018, let's hear what the agency is up to in order to solve
these issues.
As a good start of the year, the LTO says that in between the 1 st and 2nd quarter of 2018, the issuance of plates
for vehicles that were registered in 2017 onwards is expected to finally
start. Meanwhile, the agency will also continue with the 5-year validity
system for the licenses.
Moreover, the LTO says that they will be replacing its existing I.T. system
into a new one this year. According to the agency, the new I.T. system will
be web-based so that clients will be able to transact with LTO even while
in the comfort of their homes.
Meanwhile, in relation to the "Tanggal Bulok, Tanggal Usok" campaign of the
I-ACT, the LTO will be having additional emission testing machines this
year.
2017 was a challenging year for traffic management agencies like the LTO,
but through these initiatives, the agency is positive that slowly they will
be able to provide solutions.
