Traveling from Quezon City to Taguig in just 35 minutes will soon become a
reality with the construction of the Southeast Metro Manila Expressway or
the SEMME Project finally underway.
The Department of Transportation-Toll Regulatory Board, in partnership with
the Department of Public Works and Highways, recently led the
groundbreaking and time capsule laying for the first phase of the SEMME
Project, also known as the C-6 Expressway Project.
The said undertaking is a 34-kilometer, six-lane, combined elevated and
at-grade expressway with two directional traffic flow, that will connect
Batasan Hills in Quezon City to the North Luzon Expressway.
Aside from decongesting roads in Manila and Quezon City, the DPWH says that
the SEMME project will also benefit other major road networks.
According to the department, construction is targeted to start in April
2018, however, the DOTr instructed concessionaire San Miguel Corp. to start
sooner.
The government is firm in saying that this project will be highly
beneficial to the commuters and that they are working hard to turn it into
reality.
