Transport officials believe that tranportation should not be limited to
motorized means only. To give light to other transportation modes, the
government makes sure that one of the ongoing expressway projects has an
area exactly for it.
The second phase of the Laguna Lake Expressway has recently been launched.
The project is seen to reduce travel time from Bicutan, Taguig, to Taytay,
Rizal, from one hour to 30 minutes.
According to Department of Public Works and Highways, apart from the four
lanes for motor vehicles, the expressway also has a new, integrated bike
lane.
The department adds that the construction of half of the 10-kilometer
alignment of the project is set to be finished by the end of 2017 while the
overall construction is targeted for completion by the second quarter of
the next year.
