It's good to know that different cities in the metro are working together
with the Metro Manila Development Authority or MMDA in opening some of
their roads to ease traffic congestion. One city to do so is the local
government of Quezon City.
The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority or MMDA, together with the
local government of Quezon City, recently opened the Kalayaan Lanes as a
solution for the traffic congestion especially during the holiday season.
The MMDA says that they have been working closely with the barangay
officials of Quezon City in opening and maintaning these lanes.
According to MMDA, the Kalayaan Lanes consist of 30 streets that will serve
as alternate routes.
Surely, the Kalayaan Lanes will be of great help not only in decongesting
traffic in Quezon City but would also take effect to other major
thoroughfares like EDSA and C5. We are looking forward for other cities to
follow suit.
