It's good to see that road infrastructures are happening in the country
lately. Two major road projects are ongoing in the South area of the metro.
The Metro Pacific Tollways SouthCorporation or MPT South is focused on
their ongoing two major projects, the C5 South Link and the Cavite-Laguna
Expresswayor CALAX project.
The C5 South Link is a 2x3 lane 7.737-kilometer expressway along Coastal
Road or R-1 to SLEX/C-5 Road, while the CALAEX is a 4-lane 44.20 km.
closed-system tolled expressway connecting CAVITEX and SLEX. Both projects
aim to decongest traffic and reduce travel times.
According to MPT South, a new project called the Cavite-Tagaytay-Batangas
Expressway Project has been proposed to the Department of Public Works and
Highways. It will link Cavite-Laguna Expressway at Silang East Interchange
to Tagaytay City and will terminate at Nasugbu, Batangas.
The agency says that in preparation for the holidays, they have devised a
system called the Fishbone Toll Plaza.
Road projects not only translate to better driving but also a significant
contributor in the country's trade and economy. We do hope that the
government and the private sector goes hand in hand in building more road
link projects.
