DOTr Policy on 15 Year Old Trucks
The DOTr is seriously pushing its program in modernizing the country's
public utility vehicles. The transportation agency started with the launch
of the PUV Modernization program and now, they are looking at another
vehicle sector that they wish to modernize.
The Confederation of Truckers Association of the Philippines or CTAP says
that the trucking sector in the country is facing challenges especially as
the Department of Transportation or DOTr recently released the Department
Order or DO 2017-09 which strengthens the policy on the mandatory 15-year
age limit of public utility buses units or trucks for hire.
According to the organization, they are trying to negotiate with the DOTr
regarding this matter.
