The Department of Transportation and the Philippine National Railways led
the station markings of the PNR North or Manila-Clark Railway Project on
Monday, June 26, 2017.
The PNR North is a 106-kilometer line that will connect Manila to Central
Luzon with a total of 17 stations in between. Five of the stations were
marked on the same day:
Marilao
Meycauayan
Valenzuela City
Caloocan City
Tutuban, Manila.
According to the DOTr and PNR, the PNR North is the first commuter rail
project that will be extended to Central Luzon and is expected to decongest
traffic in Metro Manila and spur development in the said area.
The agencies add that the project is expected to cut travel time in under
an hour.
